Corrections policy
How readers can challenge and improve the record.
1. Submitting a concern
Call the editorial contact with the URL, exact passage, proposed change and a source that can be checked.
2. Review
The publication compares the story with primary material and may seek further context. The number of complaints does not determine the factual result.
3. Correction
A correction fixes a material factual error and explains the accurate information.
4. Clarification and update
A clarification prevents a reasonable misunderstanding; an update adds later information without implying the earlier text was wrong.
5. Retraction
Content may be withdrawn when its central claim cannot be supported or when continued publication would create unjustified harm.
6. Minor edits
Spelling, formatting and broken links may be repaired without a note when meaning does not change.
